You are invited to be a part of The Rotary Club of Greenville’s newest annual fundraiser, 2021 GO FEST. GO FEST, formerly CAMP THE FALLS, is the new Greenville Outdoors Festival. GO FEST will encourage our community to get outdoors and Go Camping, Go Hiking, Go Biking and Go Paddling. Rotary Club of Greenville has a century-old tradition of supporting our community.
Our major service project is Alexander Elementary School. Alexander has the lowest per capita income of any school in Greenville County. Over the last two years our support has yielded tremendous benefits. We continue to purchase new shoes for students, provide family meal boxes over the holidays, read to students, chaperone field trips, provide books for the library, and support teachers through teacher appreciation lunches and activities.
“Service above Self” is the motto of Rotary Club of Greenville. Not only do we live our motto through action in the community, but every year we award a Greenville County High School senior with a four-year $5,000 per year scholarship for a total of $20,000. The community service these students accomplish is truly amazing. As part of their scholarship, each scholar commits to 100 hours of community service each year they are attending college. We encourage these young people to continue to pursue a life of community service.
Rotary Club of Greenville also acknowledges our teachers through Greenville County’s Teacher of the Year recognition luncheon. Law Day is our opportunity to thank our City Police Officers, County Sheriff’s Officers and Federal Law Enforcement Officers. Additionally, each year we host a Career Day exposing high school juniors to the numerous career fields represented in Rotary Club of Greenville Rotarians serve as mentors to veterans who are transitioning from military to civilian life. Volunteers also tutor those who are learning English as a second language. These are just a few of the many endeavors that make Greenville Rotarians “People of Action”.
GO FEST is not only a benefit to the entire community through the encouragement of outdoor activities, it also serves as the foundation of our fundraising. In the fall of 2021, we will host GO FEST, Greenville Outdoors Festival, encouraging our community to Go Camping, Go Hiking, Go Biking, and Go Paddling. Raffle tickets will be sold and the winners (10) will get to “Camp the Falls” the following Saturday evening. Attached is the GO FEST sponsorship packet.
